Planning

I have over 15-years of sustainable master planning experience in the Caribbean on projects ranging from an eco-resort, an eco-industrial park, a nature park,  residential second home developments, and agro-tourism attractions. Below is an overview of some of these projects and my role in their planning.

Planning Team Member, GIS, CAD, Graphics, Photography

Member of the two-person planning team responsible for master planning the Sweet Bottom Estates expansion; a phase-one 18-acre development of 50 fractional villas. I managed the project's environmental consultants, was responsible for GIS mapping,  planned the project's natural wastewater treatment system, and was responsible for the production of all project graphics.

2006 -2007 Southgate Crossing  250 Unit Home Development, St. Croix USVI

Lead Panner, GIS, CAD, Architectural Design, Graphics

I was the lead professional on this project and was responsible for the sites layout, GIS mapping, architectural design for the project's community center, model villas, and sizing the sub surface vegetated sand filter for the wastewater treatment system. Southgate Crossing was planned to  be St. Croix's first sustainable residential development project that would generate a significant amount of its electrical needs from roof top solar, use a natural wastewater treatment system to reclaim all wastewater for on-site irrigation, and include a small district for commercial services.

Planning Team Member, GIS, CAD, Graphics, Photography

Member of the two-person planning team responsible for the initialthe design charrettes and coordination of engineering & environmental consultants. The 1,200-acre brownfield, formerly St. Croix Alumina, was pucrhased in 2004 by Energy Answers Corporation with the intent of developing the site into an "Eo-Industrial Park". The proposed redevelopment of the site evaluated such diverse activities as a cement storage facility, an EPA certified ship breaking & recycling dry-dock, a waste to energy facility (WTE),  concrete block production utilizing ash from the WTE facility, an aquaculture production and seafood proessing plant, cruise ship refueling docks,  boat building & ship repair drydock, an 18-hole golf course, a rum distillery, a nature hiking trail on the property's permimeter, and  more.

2001 - 2004 Southgate Pond  100-acre Natrue Park

Planning Team Member, GIS, CAD, Graphics, Photography

I was a member of the two-person planning team which was responsible for conducting both the community design charrettes and managing a team of the architectural & environmental consultants. The 100 -acre site contained a natural salt pond, turtle nesting beaches, an abandoned model condominium in a flood plain, the second largest red mangrove forest on St. Croix, and was home to a wide variety of tree and ground nesting birds. The project’s goal was to develop a master plan that would protect and enhance the site's natural resources, allow traditional community uses such as camping and beach fishing, create a visitor center that would also contain classrooms for use by local schools for natural science education, and create a new tourism attraction, bird watching, for island visitors.
