As a seasoned solar executive with 20+ years of experience, I have delivered dynamic on-budget projects in the US Virgin Islands and the Caribbean. Below you will find samples of my commercial and residential work with solar electric and solar thermal systems.

2015 Carambola Golf Clubhouse -150KW Off-Grid, St. Croix, USVI

Design, CAD, & Permit Acquisition

This project is scheduled for installation in the fall of 2015. The Clubhouse's conversion to a full off-grid system with gen-set & battery backup is the project's first phase. It will be the first true PV micro-grid system in the Territory. The clubhouse will eventually be incorporated into a 1.5MW micro-grid with gen-set & battery backup designed to service the golf course's surrounding condominiums, private homes, and wastewater treatment plant. The additional PV capacity will be provided by roof mounted and ground mounted arrays located on and near its maintenance facility.

2015 Southern Caribbean Conference Center 66 KW Net Meter      St. Croix, USVI

Design, CAD, & Permit Acquisition

This project is scheduled for installation in the summer of 2015. Solar Delivered worked with the SCCC owners for two years to develop a series of design for their facility. We explored car canopies, ground mount systems, and the roofs of several buildings. Following our advice to upgrade to a more efficient air-conditioning system before investing in solar, they were able to significantly reduce their electrical consumption. The final design called for a combination of ground mounted and roof mounted arrays that are projected to offset approximately 80% of the facility's electricity costs.

2014 Sunny Isle Mall - Food Court 85KW Net Meter             St. Croix, USVI

Design, CAD, Permit Acquisition, & Project Management

In 2013 the Sunny Isle Mall, on the island of St. Croix, was worried about losing a number of its prime tenants because of the punishingly high cost of electricity; $0.52/kwh, the highest in the Western Hemisphere. My company, Solar Delivered, was hired to design install the mall’s first net-metered system for its Food Court. The system was able to save the Food Court $58,037 in electricity costs in 2014 and ensure its continued occupancy in the mall.

2014 Sand Castle Hotel 65KW Net Meter   St. Croix, USVI

Design, CAD, & Project Management

In 2014 Sand Castle by the Sea hotel hired my company, Solar Delivered, to help them upgrade and expand their 10-year old 6KW PV. The hotel sought to reduce its $7,000/month electric bill as much as possible by utilizing every square foot of usable roof space on the property. The integrated system that was installed occupied the roofs of six separate buildings. The system has reduced the hotel’s monthly electric bill by more than 90% since it began operation.

2014 Primary Care Clinic 54 KW Net Meter    St. Croix, USVI

Design, CAD, Permit Acquisition, & Project Management

The building housing the Primary Care Clinic underwent a major renovation in 2012 which converted an office supply store into a medical clinic and rental office space. Like all business on St, Croix, the high cost of electricity was a major concern.  Solar Delivered was contracted to design and install a 54 KW net metered solar electric system. The system occupied the entire roof space of the clinic and an adjacent 5,000 ft2 warehouse. Because of limited roof space the system could only be designed to offset approximately 75% of the clinic’s electric bill, saving the clinic over $32,500 in 2014.

2011 thru 2015 - Residential PV System 5KW thru 20KW                 St. Croix, USVI

Design, CAD, Permit Acquisition, Installation, & Project Management

The passage of the Virgin Islands' Act 7075 net metering law in 2010 coincided with punishing electricity  rates; the highest in northern hemisphere ($0.52/kwh). Although the public was initially skeptical of PV's ability to eliminate their electric bills, rapid adoption of the technology followed when it became clear that rates of return on investment for residential customers exceeded 28%. The 5 MW of capacity allocated to St. Croix was exhausted in less than two years. The images shown represent a small sample of the residential projects completed.

Commercial Solar Hot Water System US Virgin Islands

Design, CAD, Permit Acquisition, Installation, & Project Management

Solar Delivered designed and installed solar hot water (SHW) systems for three VI Housing Finance Department projects; Louis E. Brown Housing Phase 1 (107 units). Louis E. Borwn Senior Housing (52 units), and Calabash Boom Housing St. John (25 units). We also designed and installed three SHW systems for  the University of the Virgin Islands; a SHW system with a combined chiller heat recovery loop for a student dormitory on St, Thomas campus , a multi-tank system for the student center cafateria on the St. Croix campus, and two systems for bathrooms in the Great Hall conference center on the St. Croix campus.

2007 thru 2015 - Residential Solar Hot Water Systems    St. Croix, USVI

Design, CAD, Permit Acquisition, Installation, & Project Management

Beginning in 2006 Solar Delivered, LLC worked with Virgin Islands Dept. of Labor, the Energy Office, the Water & Power Authority, and community groups to spearhead the design of a privately financed solar hot water (SHW) loan program. The program's design was "shovel-ready" when ARRA funding arrived in the Territory in early 2009 and became the Solar Loan program financed by the VI Development Bank. Solar Delivered was hired to develop the curriculum for and then teach a SHW training program for 30 adults at the Career Education & Training Center. The photos are a small sample of the more that 500 SHW systems Solar Delivered installed throughout the Territory.
